Senior VR Developer

Remote-first, Hungary, Full-time or Part-time

We are looking for an experienced Senior VR Developer to join us on a project basis and help build immersive virtual reality experiences for innovative healthtech and medtech solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating high-quality, visually compelling 3D environments and interactive VR applications. While experience in game development is welcome, we are particularly interested in professionals who have worked on training applications, simulations, digital twins, or other real-time 3D experiences beyond traditional gaming.

This is a hands-on contractor position for someone who can take ownership of developing complete VR experiences, from implementation through optimization, while collaborating closely with our engineering and product teams to deliver next-generation healthcare solutions.

What we are looking for

You are an experienced VR developer with a strong understanding of real-time 3D graphics, interaction design, and immersive technologies.

You enjoy building polished VR applications, solving technical challenges, and delivering engaging user experiences. You are comfortable working independently, communicating directly with our team, and taking ownership of your work.

Experience developing for standalone VR headsets, particularly Meta Quest, is highly valued.

This is the best way to gain experience and form a terrific community. 10 paid hours per month are dedicated to internal workshops. We mentor and receive mentorship, hold regular design critique sessions, and enhance our best practices. We create publications, product discoveries, case studies, and also speak at webinars and conferences.

What you will do

• Develop immersive VR applications for Meta Quest devices
• Create visually compelling real-time 3D environments and interactive experiences
• Build training applications, simulations, and visualization experiences for healthtech and medtech projects
• Collaborate closely with our engineering and product teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Optimize applications for performance and user experience on standalone VR hardware
• Participate in technical discussions and contribute to solution design
• Deliver high-quality, maintainable solutions that meet project requirements

You should have

• Proven experience developing VR applications
• Strong experience with Unity (C#) or Unreal Engine (C++)
• Solid understanding of real-time 3D rendering and interactive application development
• Experience developing for Meta Quest or similar standalone VR platforms.
• Ability to independently deliver complete VR features and experiences.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote, international team
• Ability to work remotely with availability during our core collaboration hours (2:00–6:00 PM CET)
• Good written and spoken English

Nice to have

• Experience developing training applications, simulation environments, or digital twins
• Experience in the healthtech, medtech, or life sciences industry
• Experience outside the gaming industry
• Knowledge of 3D optimization techniques for standalone VR devices
• Familiarity with modern 3D asset pipelines and optimization workflows
